“Only one in Poland”

From 1^stof August , Gdynia Port Technical Company SA is the holder of a specialized transport set SPMT (Self Proppeled Modular Transporter ) produced by the European leader of such machines – German Scheuerle Company. It is the fourth generation of machines manufactured for customers around the world since 1983. The information received from a supplier , it turns out that this is the first such equipment in the possession of Polish companies in Poland. The previous Polish contractors can only use foreign equipment transported specifically for execution of the order in Poland from Germany or the Netherlands. Purchased by the PZT set consists of four 4 -axle semi-trailers transport and two drive units that can be combined in almost any configuration is characterized by a high versatility, it is possible for the entire set in one of the transport line , two parallel (in 2 semi-trailers) transport lines , and many other possibilities. Each of the four semi-trailers have a capacity of about 130 tons , which in total makes it possible to transport loads of masses slightly above 500 tons. Owned two drive units allow you to connect up to five pieces each 4 -axle trailers .

Significant features of the set is very precise movement in every possible direction: straight ahead, to the rear, it is possible to ride sideways, diagonally and turn around almost every possible axis of rotation. In addition, the entire set is capable of lifting up and lowering the loading plane, the height from the ground during transport is approximately 1.5 meters of ± 35 centimeters. This allows independent driveway under load, lift it on himself, transportation to the place of destination and departure from the self-load.

The kit is adapted to be conveyed in the workplace by standard trucks TIR. Mass of a single semi-trailer along with the drive unit does not exceed 20 tons and dimensions (trailer 6m x 2,43 m, the drive unit 2.7 x 2.43) allows for easy loading on a lorry.

Currently, specialists of PZT are preparing for their first shipments already assembled on the Danish quay in the Port of Gdynia, ASC cranes production of Konecranes for the contractor in the United States. Specialized ship after the first 5 pieces of cranes is expected in Gdynia in late August and September. Until then, thanks to the new access to transport, 8 already assembled ASC cranes will be displaced to a temporary storage area to make room for the next assembly. To March 2014, PZT deliver cranes to the USA for the entire container terminal consists of 20 pieces of ASC cranes working in automatic cycle.

Purchased set o Purchased set of transportation is the start of a new transport service activities by PZT SA, which will be special transportation of heavy and large size loads. In the longer term PZT SA plans to continue increasing the load capacity development investments already had set.
