They are as high as a ten-storey block of flats and each of them weighs 130 tonnes. Yesterday in the Gdynia port the loading of two gantry cranes onto the ship “Gloria” began, both of which are as 25 metres high and will be received by a contracting party in Sudan. They will be operating in a container terminal there. – Despite the loading being made difficult by wind and chilly weather, the gantry cranes will most probably leave Gdynia as early as the end of this year. – Adam Schmidt says.

The transport to Africa will take between two and three weeks. – The average price of this type of gantry cranes is about 1 million Euro – adds Krzysztof Bąk, the director of the Port Technical Company. – The assembling of them takes about three weeks. Some of the elements necessary for the construction we import from abroad.
